Computers...Legion had never found one working as it should to show her how to work with one and this was a amazing find. Not just one but several scattered threw out the library. One of them must surely work how she enjoy learning this and find so many answers as he had described exactly what these.....Machines , is what he called them as he had went in depth explaining them to her. She smiled at the thought as she pulled her hood back uncovering her face as she watched him."At times I have thought a extra pair of hands would be very helpful at times, but never extra limbs which most likely be more accommodating.....like yours there when you need them then gone when the task is done.* She fell silent as her eyes looked towards the sealing the hair still standing on her neck as her muscles suddenly tightened further cramping her stomach. She placed a hand lightly there trying to calm it as she headed back out the door to remove the packs off the horses grazing outside, thinking they need to cooking supplies for the rabbit she had caught sight of a moment ago with the variety of vegetables her stomach growling at the thought of such a meal. Fresh the whole of the idea made her mouth water. Be a sure change from the pr-dried food they kept stored in their packs." We need the rest of the packs."Without asking for his help, or assistance she headed outside in silence, with only the echo of her steps giving the direction she went.

Extra limbs....yes he supposed the ability to change ones apperence to suit the needs of the moment was convenient. He had hardly even considered how difficult it might be for a creature that was bound to only one form...had his thoughts been formed from only humans that might have been the case for him, but he was made of many, many different things. He nodded as she left to get the cooking supplies. The seasonsings would be ready by the time she got back. He hoped he could have the rabbit skinned and boned, but he wasn't pushing his magic usage further. So he was doing it by hand. When he had finished grinding the herbs to a corse powder he set the bowl aside and took out the rabbit once more removing his knife from its sheath at his back. He wasn't worried about the blood, or the dust, after skinning it it would need to be cleaned and he had other requirements then flesh anyway, so his shadow, now returned, was lapping up the mess, absorbing the red fluid into itself as if a spung, but it left not a trace behind.
Outside Legion's mount was foraging in he dirt with its hooves for fungi.
The sentient computer above rose slowly into the air, its body an elegant and undamaged sphere in shape with two mechanical arms extruding from it. It glided towards the stiars its sensors blinking on and off as it tried to calculate the space of time that had passed and to reognize or identify the figures with in the library. The little red eye focusing its iris and clearing the static from its visual sensors.

She stopped beside one of the 3 pack horses, speaking softly to it as she unloaded the burden upon it's back, turning back the way she came she stepped inside to place it just inside the door way only to head back and do this twice more. Once that was done she pulled the bags carrying the cooking utensils to the table he been working at placing the items there silence their companion as she returned to the packs once more find the grains and special dried fungi Legion had prepared for his own mount. Once this was piled beside her with a a coupple other items for tending to all said animals she picked it up heading out once more to place grain bags over the three so they might enjoy the oats and began brushing each one done. Her mount appeared beside her waiting in patience the whole time she saw to the others and only buttered her lightly when she turned to give a affection scratch before handing him a carrot she stolen from Legions pile of vegetables. "Promised a treat just for you, hope you enjoy the light snack." She got a soft nicker as she turned her attention to brushing her loyal friend and hummed softly as she relaxed her muscles relaxing at the mind numbing chore pushing the uneasy feeling away knowing Legion would have known well before she herself would have and taken measure to assure the problem was taken care of. She patted his side as she finished then placed the grain bed over his muzzle so he could enjoy his own meal, Grabbing the other bag she pulled out the measured amount."Alright come on, know you can find what you need but no reason not to at least help with your endless pit." She chuckled as it's eyes turned in her direction and he didn't move until she had sprinkled his meal upon the dirt covered road. She watched him for a moment as he came and began eating his own meal a moment, giving her mount time with the others to finish eating, while glancing around to be sure they could reach the water supply. her Ears perked as she listened to the sounds of the night. her eyes at last taking in, really taking in, where they now camped and focused a moment on each building. truly seeing the damage of time and destruction, her thoughts running with only more questions of why? and what could such destruction to almost wipe out their existence. In time, In time she would find her answers. She turned her focus back to the animals again walking over and removing the feed bags patting each one as she did so. She turned back to the library taking her time returning pausing now and again to focus on a bit of rock or decaying object.

Legion finished skinning the rabbit scrapping the skin so he could streach it and begin the drying process on it later, a new pair of rabbit leather moccasains might earn them some trade value after all in some of the smaller villages, and it would only take a few pelts to make a set. He had thought about removing the bones but as it would have to be spit roased he settled for removing as many of the guts as he could manage befor moving outside with the whole mess, so he could wash out the interior cavity in the running fountain, befor stuffing it with vegtables and herbs. A few more minutes of collecting some dried brush and wood and he had a fire ready using broken bits of stone and concreat to make a nice little fire pit. When Takara found her way back around dinner was cooking, while he fastened the rabbit skin to a frame made of some snappy sapling branches with a bit of waxed line. The intestins still needed to be treated for creating good strings for the moccasans he was planning to make of the lot.
The machine above was slow with its decent down the stairs, its sensors taking in the decrepid state of the building and using all the signs to calculate the passage of time. It had been inactive for quite some time...this also meant that the energy supply that had activated it s system would likly belong to one of the creatures below, since its own power had apprently ceased functioning some time befor. Its function was as an observer...and law keeper, but as it appearaed the governing forces by which it was created were no more, the Laws themselves became rather unimportant....No society to govern, no law. It was still an observer, and so it must know what the intentions of the individuals who had re activated it, intentional or not as it seemed to have been....It should also cheak weather the main libary terminal was operational, this would tell the machine the extent of damage to its surroundings. Which seemed substantial, no connection could be found outside of the libary itself. Effectivly cutting it off from the rest of the city.

As she neared the library she spotted the the soft glow of the fire against the false lighting supplied by any street lamps and buildings around them and and as if right on Q the scent of cooking spiced meat hit her senses. She inhaled deeply her mouth beginning to water from the aroma. She spotted Legion not far of working diligently watching for just a moment pausing then continued towards the entrance. She walked inside feed bags in hand she turned and smiled as she spotted what appeared as some kind of hooks on the wall. Walking over she placed all four bags there sense it would within easy reach for when she fed them again come mornings light. The packs that held the oats and other things needed to tend their animals she moved to lean against the wall below the feed bags. Once this was done she took in the surrounding of the room again and went exploring hoping to find perhaps something to clear some of the dust where they would set camp for the time being here and have a clean place for her to research and perhaps look threw the books she found here. She wasn't expecting any of the computers here to work. It was from a time she was still learning about and so far, other then Legion she had found on walls or in books. So she peeked around corners and opened a coupke doors nothing to be found. Almost ready to give up in her a temp she found a to the side and and tucked away under the stairs. expecting at this point to finding nothing of real use she turned the knob then pushed lightly. A loud screeching creak as the door gave way letting her insane even as the sound made her jump. The room looked to be a place to store cleaning supplies with large gray metal boxes inside the walls eight of them to be exact. Breakers......... she recalled Legion explaining these to her long ago. this was another source to check when the lights popped and the power would suddenly no longer worked. He had shown her then what they would do and she shrugged why not? even as she spotted a broom bucket and few other things, she would put those to use soon enough first she try this and see if it worked. Opening one at a time it took her a moment to recal his instructions on this then laughed as herself for forgetting how simple this was. it would or would not work. With that in mind she went to pushing the switches one at time on and off not even sure if this worked for she had no clue what to expect if anything, but continued to do this , one gray box at a time.

Legion did take notice in this forced flux of power crated as the circit lines were broken and reconnected with the flick of a switch. Takara must have found the fuze and breaker boxes...He could only shake his head glancing a moment at their roasting dinner to assure himself it would be fine while he went to find her. Her curiosity was no trouble to him, but if she was playing with it she likely wanted to understand why and how it worked. Funny that she understood the simple concept of it well enough to play with the box without fully knowing what it accomplished, she had actually learned a lot more from their conversation on the subject then he had ever thought it possible for her to absorb without having an actual mechanism avbailable at the time.
The upper floor lights turned off, then on, each level flickering in turn as she worked through the switch boards, then the computer stations on the middle levels flicked off only to being the process of booting up once again, then the back storage room lights clicked out and then on again, then the middle floor lights fallowed off and then on, then the fountain stoppped running and maintenance shed power flickered out then both came back on, then the street lights went out and came back, then the lower floor.
The golden sphere of the law machine found itself in the dark a moment as it had been cheaking its own registery and then the computer itself shut down. The red sensor lights still glowing in the darkness it crossed its arms behind itself and disconnected from the system moving to go inspect the change in power even as the computer re booted.
Legion was several moments tracing the lines back through the walls to the little maintenance closet. He arrived just in time for her to throw the switch that threw the whole building into darkness. "Were you meaning to do that?" He inquired aloud fairly certain she did not actually know which switch went to what function of anything.

She jumped hearing his voice. a soft squeak escaping spinning with a small dagger in hand, Looking sheepish and perhaps a little embarrassed as she swallowed putting her heart back where it belonged." I was trying.....to help? I saw all these boxes and recalled you explaining to me what they did.and thought maybe the computers would come on?" She never seen one working so the idea of simply trying the boxes to bring them power like the rest made perfect sense to her logic. They needed power and this fed power. Now she had a better clue at the very least what happens when you turned the twitches off, sense they now still stood in the dark. She turned back to the box her hands sliding over the twitches to find the last one she she had popped. Sighing as her fingers found the one she seeked she twitched back to the one position. She turned back facing him again a frown appearing as she try to pear around his shoulder as if expecting to see someone or something else behind him as the uneasy feeling just seem to not just go away. Hazel eyes full of expression saying not a word as she looked to him, not for a moment forgetting she had slapped them both into darkness.

"The computers also have power switches on them." They would not come on without some one turning them on indivisually really...unless or course he told them to turn on...which he could only speculate that he already had when he had repaired the items within this area....of course, he hadn't gone looking yet either, he should have epected her curiosity to get the better of her. "Come on...dinner will be ready soon enough, We can talk about their operation after we eat."
Some where in the hall beyond a segmented red glow illuminated the hall analizing the beings from a distance. "Are either of you certified in the use of that mechanism?" Its mechanical voice nutral and unasuming.
To Legion the existence of this machine here was rather a surprise....It rather reminded him of an electronic Beholder, he had wondered really if the resembelence was intentional. The fact he had no felt it there in the hall meant that it was running on his energy....independantly of him? That was...odd...but didn't the computers potentally function the same way? Did that mean that a Law machine was indeed nothing more then a computer full of rutines? No...because then it should have....Hmmmm.....He was perplexed, so he turned slowly around to face the machine, blocking Takara with his own frame though he tried to keep his mussels releaxed rather then taunt. He had no idea if this machine was fully operational or damaged.

A hesitant lop sided smile appeared as she shrugged nodding as he explained the computers. She nodded as her stomach made it aware to them both it been several hours senses they last eaten. She glared at her stomach as if it betrayed her only to sigh and began to follow him out dagger still in hand not realizing it at that point because of the uneasy feeling she still had. Her hand clenched in response to the strange....voice? what did it mean....certified to work........computers? asking the question taking in Legions sudden stance understanding now he had not sensed it. Instead of jumping as if ready to defend herself she followed what he was trying to do she moved directly behind him, knowing soon enough she get a view of what ever it was speaking to them. Curiosity in this instance could be dangerous. Always a time and place for it later. She remained silent letting him deal with whom ever it was. Her head turned slightly as if seeing threw the inclosed space as she suddenly felt her stead suddenly stand motionless as if listening and watching. She knew without seeing how he stood for it wasn't the first time and her breathing eased in slight re leaf even if she wondered again how he could know what appeared to be a predicament they where in. She turned her attention back to what was happening this very moment waiting for what ever outcome would come. learning about the computers and how to turn them on for the moment forgotten.

"We/I believe we are/I am sufficently knowledgable of its basic operation." Legion's reply came across as a flux of sounds not quite all of which were human in that moment.
The machine was silent a moment hovering as it watched them. "I see." It moved aside making room in the hall for them to pass. "It seems that my former maintenance is obsolete. Would you know the year?"
"...Not in anything you would recognize." Legion answered.
"It appearsthen their will be much to discuss. You are a being of alchemical creation. Who is your controler?"
"We/I have none. Takara is a moderner, she found us/me as we have discovered you."
The machine calculated silently a few moments, taking into account the reference of many in place of a single individual when Legion spoke of himself. "Welcome Takara to the great Libary of Din...I am the Law Machine assigned here. It was polite enough anyway and it had uncrossed its hands now to let them hang down below it.
Legion stepped aside now so that Takara might see this Law Machine for itself. "We/I think its safe enough...it seems to be quite sane."

she listened as they conversed back and forth only nodding when Legion assured her it was fine. She stepped out so it could see her, but remained close to legion, taking in the Law Machine? Her brow slightly wrinkled as her mind processed this, coming to the conclusion that this must be something, like they had now as far her own society took care of matters, of dispute when one happened which was rare, sense the people had one thing on their minds. to work their fields and trade, the thief..........if ever one was caught, was then tried and sentenced if the villagers didn't catch them first. "Thank you Law Machine." She turned to Legion. "Is, the oddest machine yet I have seen yet and you call it sane.........Do I even wish to know what happens when one like this is not? and what is a controller?"Her direction of sight took in this strange machine before her feeling still weary as took in how it was built and wondered if they ever find one that was not working so she might peek inside it.....or better if they might come across a book describing how it worked and was built and exactly what it could and could not do. She reached out wrapping fingers around Legions arm a frown appearing. "Legion? should I say something next time? You did not sense it.........Nothing is wrong with you is there?"

"Insane ones usually self destruct destroying entire civilizations. They were once responsible for keeping order in different sectors of the galaxy." Legion replyed, eyeing the concern in her eyes and tilting his head slightly. "Do not worry, We are/I am fine. Had it been any threat we/I would have noticed." He was not being completely truthful here but at the same time it was true, had the routine meant them harm he would have symply eliminated it from the equation durring reconstruction.
"Order has many definitions, in different places. I see that the words he speaks are true however, he bears no controler for you do not understand his construction. A controller is the one usually responsible for the actions of a creature created outside of the natural realms of order."
"Alchemy is not outside the natural order." Legion protested though the statement was not made in anger.
"It is natural but it is not natural order, it has been manipulatged through science and magic."
That might be somewhat true...but it was not entirely true either. "A controller is not nessicarily the caster, but is the entity responsible typically speaking for the actions of a alchemically created creature, as the controller is the one who creates guildlines of a things fuctions. We are/I am not a thing."
"Understood, Forgive my rudeness. I believe you were cooking...should you not be preparing for your meal?"
Legion smiled. "So we were." He lead Takara past the Law machine then slowly. His skin turning a shade of tan resembling deeply stained wood as he passed the machine by.
"How long will you continue to power this sector?"
Legion had hoped it had not noticed....it was perceptivly smarter then he had ever given these machines credit for. "As long as it takes her..."
"I see."

She moved nodding her head the frown not leaving her expression and she almost growled at Legion having, or needing someone to control him. She let it go for now her four hooved friend still unmoving as if listening to the conversation as they headed towards the fire where their food cooked wondering if this Law machine would cause any issues sense it seemed very aware the magic came from Legion. Her hairs rose at that simple reply of I see.....when she ever herd those exact words, they were coming from the legion of the cross and someone came up missing and no one knew anything. She glanced once more towards the machine." I do hope you don't have a problem with me here searching threw the books and files."She fell silent with those words as they walked slowly around the tables and scattered bits of dab-re heading towards the door and soon into the night covered sky to a warm fire and the aroma of food that caused her stomach to protest it been empty far to long.

"Not at all, I will gladly help you with anything you wish to find or know. My function now dictates that I must pass on what I can."
Legion cheaked the spit once they were near the fire. Ignoring the Law Machine that fallowed them now. He poked at the rabbit with his knife in a few places before he was satisfied that it was indeed done. awing through it with the knife while it was still on the spit, he let the halves fall onto the plate, then stabbed some of the potato's out of the fire rinsing them with the fountain water before he added one to each plate. It was a great deal more to eat then either of them needed but he would prepare the leftovers for travel if needed. He would be sure she at least ate her fill of something other then the dried rations they had brought. Offering her the plate then without much comment on the situation itself. "It won't go far, you can ask it questions later. Eat."
The Law Machine examined the fire contemplating that prior to now their had never been an open fire with in the library court yard. It was a sad thing to know that enforcing that simple rule would serve no pourpose now, for these were the last people it was likely to encounter. Instead it moved to gather more stones and contain it well within a small radius of stone so that none of the brush would catch fire and t hreaten the remains of the library. It was a little excessive really but the well placed stones created a flat and safe ring, expanding the protected range of the fire pit built by Legion.

"Thank you any help you can offer would be appreciated." Taking a seat she fell silent at legions orders grinning. at his no nonsense attitude taking charge and being sure she ate and waited as he served the food. Taking the plate offered she did not argue but sat the plate in her lap to quickly reach for the cooked rabbit delicately pulling the meat apart while blowing on her fingers soaking them with the bit juice and grease. Find it to hot to repeat that ,she used her dagger to stab at the meat to bring to her lips, blowing softly before slipping it between full well shaped lips. chewing slowly she simply as this point, watching them to pause in eating her meal as she watched to see what the machine was doing. At that point she started feeling a bit of sympathy for it. how sad even if only a machine. one day to be useful to going to nothing to wake up and find it all gone. She wondered then if it felt anything as she did........she knew Legion did to a point, just some things seemed to escape him with emotions and grasping what they were or mint.
